Th Langs and Kornmod Realskole

Th Langs today.

Th Langs is one of the most known schools in Silkeborg. it is together with Kornmod Realskole a privatschool. It was grounded in 1882 by Theodora Lang and is then around 125 years old. Back when Mrs. Lang grounded the school, there was very few means, and the students had to bring their own chair. You could then see how rich the students Family were, by looking at how fine their chair was.

Silkeborg Gymnasium

Silkeborg Gymnasium is, with around 1600 students, the biggest gymnasium in Denmark. It is placed at the Northern part of Silkeborg, where you got  a lot of bus oppotunities, from the train station directly to the school. With its 30 different study directions, there are many opportunities for you to find exactly the directions that YOU like! Together with the many directions, Silkeborg Gymnasium can offer a lot of different languages, such as: French, German, Chineese, Spanish and Latin. The many languages makes the school really internation focused, wich makes it really easy as an Exchange student on Silkeborg Gymnasium.

Culture in Silkeborg

 In Silkeborg, we can offer you a big variety of spare time activities, museums, festivals and concerts for all ages. 

 Visit the ‘Asger Jorn Museum’ and get inspired by the famous artist from Silkeborg. Go to a concert at ‘Rampelyset’ and enjoy the sound of talented musicians. Take your family to the aquarium and animal park ‘Aqua’ to play and learn. You can even pet a fish! Your child can attend ballet or take art and instrument lessons at ‘Den Kreative Skole’. Join a meditation, food making or literature course at ‘AOF’. In Silkeborg there are always plenty of things to visit, watch and experience!

In Silkeborg there are also festivals, which gather the city. Every summer ‘Riverboat Jazz festival’ is held in Silkeborg. Here you can listen to happy jazz music in one of the many tents and enjoy the amazing atmosphere.

    Every third year Silkeborg fire festival called ‘Regatta’ is held. Here the city has turned into a huge party! An amusement park is set up, bands are playing and fireworks will embellish the sky at night. An experience you cannot miss!
